Children's Ministry

Due to COVID19, Sunday school is on hiatus. Please contact Katya Nemec, our Associate for Children, Youth, and Family, to join us for virtual Children's Chapel.

Contact Rev. Elizabeth Riley for information on children's ministry during the pandemic. Our schedule prior to covid is listed below.

Opens at 8:30AM

On Sunday mornings we invite our youngest members to join our caring staff for childcare. Our nursery is open to children ages 4 and under.

Godly Play

Children 4 and up are invited to participate in Godly Play during our program year (September - May). Please check your child in a few minutes before the 9:30AM service.  Click here to learn more about our curriculum, Godly Play.

Children in Worship
8:00AM & 9:30AM

We welcome all children to remain in worship if they wish. We have a soft space in the front of the church for little ones that need space to move during worship.

Sacrament of Baptism

The Sacrament of Baptism is open to everyone from the youngest babies to the oldest adults. At Emmanuel Church, we typically offer Baptisms 4 times a year: Easter Vigil, the Day of Pentecost, All Saint's Day or the Sunday following, and the Feast of the Baptism of our Lord (the First Sunday after the Epiphany).

Please contact our Rector, Rev. Elizabeth Riley, if you're interested in getting you or your children baptized!

In addition to Godly Play, there are many opportunities for children to grow spiritually at Emmanuel.  For example, they can learn with their families at home with Lent-in-a-Box, learn to pray with older members of our congregation during intergenerational formation hours, serve as an Acolyte on Sundays, or join our Choir School. Subscribe to our newsletter, the eBell, to keep up to date with all these formation opportunities!
