Dear Friends –
Summer is barely here and we are already thinking about our next program year! There are three big events on the calendar for the coming year, that we wanted you all to have on your calendars. Gathering our community for fellowship and fun is deeply important to us, while also balancing our desire to gather with the volunteer efforts that it takes to do these events well. We are focusing on three big events this coming year, with room for more to be added, as a starting point for our planning and dreaming.
September 10th – Celebration Sunday! Join us for ONE service at 10AM! We’ll welcome our choir back after their summer break, and kick off our programs for the fall. After church we’ll join in fun and fellowship (but don’t worry, we’ll have you home in time for the game). The 8AM service will return on September 17th!
October 29th – Fall Festival – After the 10AM service we will have a fall festival of sorts, with festivities and food for folks of all ages!
February 13th – Shrove Tuesday Dinner in the Parish Hall – We’ll have dinner and worship in the parish hall in the tradition of a pancake supper before we start Lent with Ash Wednesday the next Day.
We are eager to incorporate many voices and talent in the planning and dreaming of these events! Folks who are interested in planning and dreaming more about our community events should reach out to our Senior Warden, Polly Ogden or myself (Rev. Elizabeth Riley).
This is only the beginning of our plans for a fun and meaningful year at Emmanuel in 2023-2024, we can’t wait!
