Our Youth Group meets almost every Sunday at 5:00PM in the Narthex (please check our Youth Calendar to see our most up to date schedule). The Emmanuel Youth Community gets together for fun, games, snacks, and bible study.
Our Youth are passionate about social justice issues and being active in the community! Here are some things our youth have done in the past year:
Organized a party for families at Mary's Place on Mother's Day
Volunteered with Bridge Ministries on Mercer Island
Volunteered at Rainier Valley Food Bank
Volunteered at Edible Hope Kitchen at St. Luke's Episcopal in Ballard
This past Summer, we went on a local mission trip to St. Luke's in Ballard to help with their Edible Hope Kitchen, a volunteer-based program that serves hot breakfast to those struggling with food insecurity. For many of our youth, it was their first real exposure to the complexities of housing and food insecurity. It awakened in them a passion to learn more, to serve more, and to be in a continuing relationship with the people at Edible Hope Kitchen and the overall St. Luke's Community.
